Let’s be honest, no one really wants to have a conversation about death or funerals and yet, as friends, family, and neighbors, that is where we often connect. Bethany’s Faith, Food, and Fellowship will be a time to learn about resources in the community that can help navigate that journey. 5:30 p.m. Supper will be served 6:15 p.m. Presentation by Rev. Steven Gjerde, Bethany and Lucas Gajewski, Ascend Funeral Home 7:00 p.m. Closing Bethany is excited to kick off its “Faith, Food, and Fellowship” series this fall. FF&F is offered as a way to welcome members of the community into conversation on various topics related to the faith. At this first gathering, we will learn how to plan for death with Christian insight and courage. Leading our discussion will be Lucas Gajewski from Ascend, and Pastor Gjerde from Bethany. This free program is open to anyone who would like to attend. The evening will begin with a meal, followed by the presentation and plenty of time to socialize with those in attendance. Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care is a newly created nonprofit organization, located in Weston, Wisconsin. It was conceived as a response to ease the burden our community faces in times of loss. Lucas Gajewski, Executive Director and Licensed Funeral Director, will join us to discuss the importance of preplanning and giving thought to how to make the funeral process a positive experience for you and your loved ones.
